Playlist Watching Quick Guide

Welcome to my weekly movie playlists. They come out every Friday on Letterboxd. Follow me on Letterboxd to keep up with what I'm watching and for movie capsule reviews. My playlists include mini-reviews, insights, and my reason for why they are in the playlist and why the films are in a particular spot.

I want to provide a quick guide to the playlists. The playlist's guide will be in the list's description under the "About the Playlist" section. As I continue to build new playlists, I will update this article, but here are the types of playlists out there so far.

Ranked Lists: I have two types of ranked playlists with specific rules.

  • Weekend Bingewatch playlists: These ranked lists are meant to be watched in the order they are in; the ranks are there to quickly determine the order. I try my hardest to do the most curating in the Weekend Bingewatch Playlists, so they're entertaining for the whole weekend. In the "About the Playlist" section, there will also be the movies to day ratio. The ratio will tell you what movie to stop at for each day and over how many days to watch. They will either be to start watching on Friday or Saturday.
  • Top-10 Playlists: Top-10 playlists are not meant to be watched in any particular order.  They are my opinions of what the top-10 movies of a specific genre or filmmaker's career. You can watch the whole playlist, only the ones you haven't seen, from No.1 to No. 10 or vice versa. The biggest I will do is 10; there might be times when it's a Top-5 or Top-3 list depending on the subject.

Non-Ranked List:

  • Themed Playlist: Non-ranked lists are never meant to be played all of them or in order. They are meant to be a collection of films of a specific theme. Maybe it's to go with a particular current event, a genre I'm making up, or a subgenre that not many people know about.
  • Double Feature Playlist: As the name suggests, these are two films meant to be watched back to back. Most of the time, they are meant to be played in order. If they are meant to be played in order, there will be a 1/2 and 2/2 in the film notes. There are also times where it doesn't matter, and obviously, they won't have a 1/2 or 2/2 in the notes.
